How AI Visibility Scoring Works
Each AI platform weighs different content signals when selecting which pages to cite. Our AI Visibility Score evaluates your page across 5 pillars and generates platform-specific estimates for ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude based on their known citation preferences.
The 5 Visibility Pillars
- Content Structure (25 pts) — Proper H1/H2/H3 hierarchy, table usage, and list formatting that enables clean RAG chunk extraction.
- Schema & Entity Clarity (25 pts) — JSON-LD presence, FAQPage/HowTo types, Organization markup, and BreadcrumbList per Schema.org vocabulary.
- Content Depth (20 pts) — Word count sweet spot of 1,500-3,500 words with high fact density and topical focus.
- Freshness Signals (15 pts) — dateModified within 90 days scores maximum points. AI models prioritize recently updated content according to Google's Article schema documentation.
- Authority & Trust (15 pts) — Author bylines, sameAs entity links, and 3+ external source citations that establish E-E-A-T credibility.

ChatGPT favors schema and clean structure. Perplexity weights freshness and citations heavily. Gemini prioritizes entity clarity and content depth. Claude prefers long-form, well-structured content. Our per-platform estimates reflect these documented preferences from OpenAI's crawler documentation and published AI search research.
